Ocean Web Alliance

Now more than ever, protecting our vulnerable marine ecosystems is critical to protecting our way of life and the future of humanity. Instead of taking a passive approach, we believe in taking direct action to protect native fish from invasive species. Until natural predators emerge, humans are the only ones who can preserve and protect the diminishing habitats our wildlife call home.

Rebranding

OWA plans a new complete rebranding and overhaul of the website, social media, and internet footprint.

Partnerships

OWA seeks partnerships with companies and influencers to bring awareness and attention to the threat lionfish pose.

Breakeven

OWA reaches breakeven or profit on the lionfish culling-to-sale model. Donations can now be used to fuel growth instead of sustenance.

How we work

Culling lionfish is a hard but rewarding process. Donations allow us to charter boats and recruit divers. We then initiate a culling dive. Professional captains take us to natural reef ecosystems, where our divers descend and directly harvest lionfish using poke poles. Lionfish are then sold to fishmongers, allowing us to help offset diving costs and supplying fresh fish to local towns.
